 HISTORY OF CENTER

The Crisis Pregnancy Center of Pine City opened its doors in 1980. The center was located on the second floor of the local theater downtown Pine City. In 1982 the center was given $2,500 relocation money because the theater was being torn down to build a county jail. In 1982 the center moved to the main level of a house located on Fourth Street which was rented from landlord, Al Dusek. The Center remained there for 25 years. In the summer of 2007 the center relocated to Main Street. We currently rent the office from Tim Leland the owner of the Dollar Stuff and More store. Our name has been changed to the Pregnancy Resource Center of Pine City. For many years the center was run entirely by volunteers. Currently we have one paid staff person-the center’s executive director. We are currently open three days a week and have a 24-hour hotline. The center is a pro-life Christian ministry committed to the sanctity of human life. The center does not refer for abortion or provide or recommend contraceptives for single women.
